Use the Companies Table and any of our Filters to find and explore new companies.
For a known target, Global Search
If you are looking for a specific Company, the Global Search bar at the top of the page. You can search by:
Company name or alias
Our search understands aliases, so searching for "Facebook" will direct you to Meta
Website URL
Pasting a company's website, like domestos.com, will find the parent company, Unilever
Business description
You can also search for keywords or phrases likely to be in a company's description. For example, searching "Football Pitches" will surface operators like Powerleague
For market discovery, use Filters
To explore a market and build a list of Companies from scratch, navigate to the Companies tab and use our filters.
Start by defining the sector or type of business you're interested in via one of the filters below (from most broad to most specific):
Sector
Every Company on Gain.pro is tagged to a Sector and Sub-sector so you can quickly start exploring a broad landscape.
Expect 10k-100k+ results
Tags
Tags are more narrow niches. Describe a description or activity in natural language and we'll suggest results that you can combine with AND, OR or NOT filters.
Expect 100-100k results
Text Contains
Use this powerful filter to find specific words or phrases within a company's business description, name or other profile text
Expect 1-10k results, based on specificity
Similar To
If you already know the type of company (or companies) you're interested in, specify key player names in this filter to get a list of comparable peers based on our similarity algorithm.
Expect 100-1000 results
AI Search
Describe any idea as you would to a colleague and let us find the most relevant results in our database. Search for add-ons, strategic buyers, competitors or more in any niche.
- We recommend only including qualitative context in the search box here
- You can then add size, financial or numerical filters with other Gain.pro filters
Examples include
- "Dental Chains with a proven track record of M&A"
- "Add-on targets for a large HVAC supplier"
- "Potential strategic buyers for Rentman"
- "Restaurant Chains in the US with dense regional clusters"
Expect 1-500 results, based on specificity
Once you've defined the sector you're interested in, refine location, size, ownership type to narrow your list.
Company HQ
Filter by country, region or even a radius around an area to make sure you pick up on the right HQ location
Size (Financial or FTE)
You can use our Revenue, EBITDA or FTE filters to specify exact ranges. Use the OR selector at the bottom of a filter to combine two of them (such as Revenue OR FTEs) and expand your results.
Ownership
Isolate and focus on companies that are specifically public, investor-backed or privately-held
