What to know
You can use our full range of advanced filters to build highly specific, data-driven searches.
Leverage granular data points, from financial ratios to our proprietary predicted exit filter, to find the companies that matter.
Filter deep dive
Once you've mastered the default filters, you can access advanced options by clicking the "Add filter" button on the Companies table. Key ones include
Advanced financials & ratios
Go beyond simple revenue and EBITDA to filter on the details:
Financials: Filter on specific P&L and Balance Sheet metrics, including margins, net debt, and working capital
Ratios: Choose from operational (e.g. Rev/FTE), leverage (Net Debt / EBITDA), or return ratios (ROA, ROE)
Growth & deal activity
Target companies based on their trajectory and transaction history:
Growth: Track Revenue, EBITDA, and FTE growth across various periods, from 3 months to 3 years, for near real-time insights into a company's momentum.
Deals: Filter on a company's historic platform deals, funding rounds, or add-on acquisitions. You can also use our proprietary predicted exit time filter to find companies that may be coming to market soon
Qualitative insights & assessments
Leverage our proprietary analyst insights in your search:
Business Model: Filter on characteristics like customer base (B2B vs. B2C), business activity or sales channel.
Assessment: Use any of our 10-point investment criteria as filters, covering quantitative and qualitative criteria
Advanced search techniques
Here are some powerful techniques to further refine your discovery process
Master tag logic
While the default "OR" logic for tags widens your search, you can use "AND" to narrow your focus to a specific niche (e.g., "Healthy Food" AND "Restaurant") or "EXCLUDE" to remove concepts you're not interested in (e.g., "Healthy Food" but EXCLUDE "Wholesale")
Advanced "Text Contains" searches
This filter searches across business descriptions, tags, and LinkedIn pages. You can use Boolean operators like AND, OR, or a dash (-) to exclude terms.
For more precision, place your search in quotes to find results with the exact word order
Combine filters with "OR" logic
You can create a "two-way catch" between different filter types.
For example, you can set a filter for companies with an EBITDA over €10m OR a Revenue over €50m to capture companies that meet either of the criteria
Use GenAI revenue estimates
When searching for smaller companies, you can toggle the "GenAI revenue estimates" on or off.
Leaving it on (the default) allows you to find companies that don't report financials but are estimated to be within your desired revenue range
FAQs
How do I run a very localised search?
- In the Company HQ filter, you can specify a city and then set a radius around it (e.g., 50km around Manchester). This is a powerful way to find local companies when combined with a sector tag
How does the predicted exit filter work?
- This filter uses our proprietary algorithm to suggest companies that are likely to come to market within a given window
- We consider factors like the last platform deal, typical holding periods and the company's growth trajectory to provide an estimate as to when a process may next occur
